Our programme is tailored to the individual. Intended primarily for helping achieve weight loss, advice and interventions to help keep it off.

Some of the services we deliver to you

Nutritional advice

RIO is a Mentor Centre for the weight loss company Lighterlife. We offer a range of products to help with weight loss, including a true nutritionally complete Very Low Calorie Diet.

Physical activity

RIO has an on-site gym and an exercise therapist who offers access to a Personal Trainer and bespoke exercise programme at preferential rates.

On-site health checks

Weighing and measuring with specialist equipment that can specifically weight your muscle, fat, bone and fluid. Giving a more accurate picture of how your weight is made up.

Talking therapies

Arguably one of the most important, but often ignored aspects of weight management is the psychology behind why we over-eat, or eat when we are not really hungry.

Weight loss medications

RIO is able to prescribe weight loss medications to help with losing the weight, whilst working on behaviour change and interventions to help keep the weight off.

Group sessions

Educational group sessions, which are held in our own on-site educational facilities, are currently available on various topics (for patients or healthcare professionals).

Dr Capehorn’s roles include the prescribing of weight loss medications and assessment for surgery when appropriate.

Lynn Senior

RIO Supervisor

Lynn organises appointments and liaises with referrers and other service providers and organisations.

Dale Carter

Lead Obesity Nurse
and Lead Research Nurse

Dale provides initial triage appointments and delivers basic nutrition and weight management advice.

Lindsey Harrison

Obesity Specialist Nurse
Research Nurse

Lindsey has years of experience in the field of obesity having worked for RIO NHS, Lindsey now provides initial triage appointments and delivers basic nutrition and weight management advice, she has also now joined the research team.
